Chapter One :Chapter 1

"Let's get a divorce."

After three years of marriage, this was the second sentence Bradley Ferrell spoke to her.

The first sentence was on their wedding night.

She twirled in front of him in her white wedding gown, holding the wide hem, and asked with a smile, "Do I look good?"

But the answer she got was-

"The wedding is over. I will send someone to take you abroad."

Then, she was sent out of the country and stayed for three years alone.

She didn't expect to receive such a sentence as soon as she returned to the country.

A divorce.

On their wedding day.

"Do we really have to get divorced?"

Giselle Mendoza didn't raise her head. Her long hair covered her face, hiding all the emotions in her eyes and face.

She asked in a voice trembling with a hint of tears, "Can't we discuss it?"

Bradley stared at her for a long time, his cold voice devoid of any emotion, "You know, if it weren't for my grandfather's critical condition, I would never have married you."

Three years ago, Ethan Ferrell was seriously ill. Before his death, his wish was to see Bradley get married and start a family.

This marriage wasn't Giselle's. She was a girl brought back by the Mendoza family by mistake. When she was eighteen, she was informed that the real daughter of the Mendoza family, Sarah Mendoza, had returned. As for Giselle, she had become an imposter who took Sarah's place.

Everything she enjoyed should have belonged to Sarah - her parents' love, her brother's doting, and even this marriage arranged between her and Bradley since birth.

However, Ethan said that marriage was based on feelings. She and Bradley were childhood sweethearts. Although she wasn't the real heiress, they had to let Bradley marry her. As long as the Mendoza family still admitted that she was their daughter, the two families could be in-laws.

So it was a fact that she and Bradley registered their marriage.

However, Sarah was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She couldn't bear to hear Giselle's name, let alone see Giselle. After learning of this marriage, she even committed suicide and asked Bradley to accompany her before she gave up.

To prevent Sarah's condition from getting worse, Giselle was sent abroad by Bradley on the second day of her marriage. She had not returned until now.

Bradley handed over a contract. "I've asked the lawyer to draft the divorce agreement. Take a look. If you don't have any objections, just sign it."

Giselle lowered her head and took the document. "Can you give me some time to think about it?"

Bradley looked at her. Her heavy bangs covered her eyes, and living alone in a foreign country seemed to have made her more withdrawn.

"If there is anything unsatisfactory regarding the assets, feel free to mention it. This villa will be transferred to your name as well. I'll give you a week."

After that, he turned around and left the master bedroom.

As his fingers grasped the doorknob, he glanced back into the room. The woman's thin shoulders trembled slightly, still holding the contract without moving.

Bradley's expression was dark as he closed the door.

The room was completely quiet.

After a moment, a burst of cheers erupted.

"You son of a bitch! I've finally gotten divorced!"

Giselle looked at the divorce agreement in her hand and couldn't help but laugh, the traces of her shoulders shaking becoming more obvious.

During the three years she was sent abroad, she didn't receive a single caring message from the Mendoza family, nor did she receive a word of comfort from her supposed husband.

Even when she was being followed and almost died, she couldn't reach Bradley's phone.

Her love had long been buried in that winter.

After happily signing her name, she rolled on the bed, her bangs falling along with her long hair, her beautiful face showing no trace of resentment.

When she was about to get up and tidy up her luggage, her phone rang.

Giselle answered the phone, her voice obedient. "Hello, Rocco."

Rocco Henderson went straight to the point and said, "The group of people who tried to kidnap you at the airport when you returned to the country has been caught, and it has led to the investigation of the stalking case three years ago. Unfortunately, all the clues point to your foster parents and... your supposed husband."
